21 st to 22nd of November: Pontevedra

Pontevedra

In Pontevedra, we will make our special visit to the Sanctuary where the Apparitions of Our Lady and the Child Jesus to Sister Lucia of Fatima took place. We will have our Holy Mass at the very site of the apparitions.

We will have a brief guided tour of the Sanctuary where the religious sisters of this congregation will give a detailed explanation of this story. The Virgin Mary held her heart surrounded by thorns in her hand. Beside her, the Child Jesus, who spoke first, asked Lucia to have compassion on the heart of his Blessed Mother, indignant at the offenses that men utter against Mary.

There are five blasphemies that pierce the Immaculate Heart of Mary: those uttered against her Immaculate Conception, against her Virginity, against her Divine Motherhood, those that instill indifference among children, and those that directly profane Marian images. It was here in this place that the Virgin Mary spoke about the devotion of the five First Saturdays.

If in the mysteries of Fatima the call to conversion is explicitly presented as a way to alleviate the pain caused by sin, the message of Pontevedra also contemplates a means to repair the damage caused.

During our stay in Garabandal, we will visit the main places where the apparitions took place (where the Angel St Michael first appeared, the first apparition of Our Lady, the "pines", one of the most important places of these events and where in the future there will be the Miracle of Garabandal. We will speak with witnesses of the events, such as Mr. David, Maximina who is Aunt Godmother of Conchita ( one of the seers). We will also participate in the Holy Mass.

It is a rectangular piece of linen cloth stained with blood[1] measuring 85.5 × 52.6 centimeters[2].

The Shroud of Oviedo (from Latin: cloth of sweat) is the cloth that was wrapped around the head of Jesus Christ after He died, as described in John 20:6-7: "[...] venit ergo Simon Petrus sequens eum et introivit in monumentum et videt linteamina posita et sudarium quod fuerat super caput ejus non cum linteaminibus positum sed separatim involutum in unum locum." — John 20:6-7 XX, 6-7 "Then Simon Peter, who was following him, also arrived and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, and the cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus' head. The cloth was not lying with the linen cloths but was rolled up in a place by itself."
