Garabandal and the Second Vatican Council

This is a very positive and comforting message about the Love of God that decided to send, between 1961 and 1965, to our heavenly Mother a mission of great mercy for all of us, in one of the most critical moments in the history of mankind. She came to reassure us and to give us her merciful warnings and useful advice for the salvation and sanctification of our souls, and to alert us to the danger of the great apostasy that was to come.

The following article is an article that was published in the Garabandal newspaper about the Second Vatican Council based on Bishop Nickless' perspective of the city of Sioux, located in the south of the state of Dakota. Mr. Barry Hanratty, editor of this newspaper, gave me permission to share it with you all.

The above image of the priests of the Second Vatican Council was adapted to the image of Garabandal in order to be able to convey the true meaning that the work of the Holy Spirit had in this Council, as well as the mission that our Mother in heaven had in relation to accomplishment of the same. Throughout the various stages of the Garabandal phenomenon, Our Lady spoke to the four girls about the future unification of the churches. This will be the biggest event that will pave the way for the rapid spread of the Kingdom of God and Divine Will on Earth as in Heaven! Deo Gratias! Reading this article will allow us to bring some peace, comfort and joy to all those who want to accept it willingly Respectfully in the Most Holy and Adorable Will of God,

   THE MIRACLE AND THE COUNCIL

What did Our Lady want to make known in Garabandal about the Second Vatican Council?

Was Vatican Council II something good and very necessary for our time or not? If we judge the success of the Council by everything that happened after the Council, we would have to conclude that it was a colossal failure, in which thousands of priests and religious abandoned their vocations, in which there was a large-scale exodus of laypeople from our churches. , not to mention all those who stopped believing in important facts of our faith, such as the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. We can still add to all this, and perhaps the cause of all this, the attempt in the name of ecumenism, to change the face of Catholicism, to a more attractive version for our separated brothers, an experience that, after all, had the opposite effect , where thousands of Catholics became part of Protestant churches.

But not everyone blames the Council for this failure. Bishop R. Walker Nickless of the city of Siox, South Dakota, for example, sees the problem more in the way the Council was implemented. In a last pastoral letter of 2009, he called attention to the distinction between "the spirit of Vatican II" on the cover in which many changes were made, and the real Council. He writes:

"... it is crucial that we all understand the hermeneutics or the interpretation of discontinuity or rupture, in which many people thought that they had been officially established by the Council, but that is not the true meaning of the Council. This interpretation sees the Church conciliate post-conciliarity with almost two different churches. "

Everything seems that the Second Vatican Council has made a radical break with the past. There can be no division between the church and its faith before and after the Council. We have to stop saying the Church "Pre-Vatican II" and "Post-Vatican II", and also stop saying about various characteristics of the Church like "pre" and "post" Vatican II. Instead, we must evaluate them according to their intrinsic value. The so-called "spirit" of the Council has no authorized interpretation. It is a ghost or demon that must be exorcised if we are to continue with the Lord's work.

The Bishop exhorts all his priests to celebrate Holy Mass with the utmost fervor, to make confessions frequently, and to promote Eucharistic Adoration and Marian devotion. All of this was far from what actually happened in the 70s. I remember a young boy in his first year of seminary in a diocese in which I will not even mention it because the situation is very different now, saying that they were not authorized to praying the rosary openly, or giving thanksgiving after receiving Holy Communion.

Our Lady and the Second Vatican Council

What Our Lady said about the Council at Garabandal is in line with the position of Bishop Nickless and many others, because in her appearances she reinforced and spoke well about the Council itself. On September 26, 1962, according to the information available, it was the date of the first time that Our Lady spoke about the Second Vatican Council in Garabandal. The following words from Conchita, which will be presented below, were transcribed by the lawyer, Luís Navas Corillo, from an audio recording of a Basque priest, at a time when Conchita was in a state of ecstasy:

"Is the Council the best of all? Will it be a success? How nice! That way, we will all know you much better and you will be very happy ..."

Commenting on what is said in the book "SHE WENT IN HASTE TO THE MOUNTAIN", by Father Eusébio Garcia de Pesquera, he says that it would be very good to know exactly what Our Lady said in Conchita's conversations, since it is not possible to draw definitive conclusions about this topic.

But when Conchita said, "How good it is! ..." there has to be little doubt that something positive was said by Our Lady for there to be that kind of response. Father Pesquera suggested that perhaps it was because of a chapter belonging to one of the points of the dogmatic constitution of the Council, totally dedicated to Our Lady.

There is, however, another possibility that was not mentioned by Father Pesquera himself and that makes more sense with the type of response given by Conchita "How good ...!". At the close of the third session of the Council, on November 21, 1964, Pope Paul VI proclaimed Mary "Mother of the Church." For this reason, Our Lady was never absent from the Second Vatican Council, which, moreover, opened at the feast of the Maternity of Mary (October 11, 1962) and ended at the feast of the Immaculate Conception (December 8, 1965).

However, we think that what Our Lady said to Conchita on September 26, 1962, may not be related to either the chapter of the constitution or the proclamation of Mother of the Church by Pope Paul VI. At four in the morning on November 18, 1962, five weeks after the opening of the Council, another record of Conchita in ecstatic state was obtained. I show you the main excerpts of those conversations:

"... I must say ... oh! Good! That with the Council and the Miracle, the world will be converted? ... and then the world will be forgiven? Oh, that is good ... What ?. ... and I can say that with the Council and the Miracle there will be conversion .... I will say all this after the Council and ... what? So I want the Council to end now ... I will not say anything more, more nothing, okay? .... When the Council is over, I won't say a word ... oh, goodbye. "

What we can get out of all this is that the Miracle will have far-reaching effects with regard to a high number of conversions and that Vatican II will play a leading role in facilitating that same transition in accepting new members for the Church. Is this the great unification also predicted in Garabandal? Although we cannot confirm with 100% certainty on this matter, we are encouraged to think that something monumental is going to happen and that it matches what Our Lord said to Conchita in the July 20, 1963 speech. I show you some of the parts of this dialogue:

CONCHITA: Why is the Miracle going to happen? To convert a lot of people?

JESUS: To convert the whole world.

CONCHITA: Will Russia be converted?

JESUS: Yes, she will also be converted and in this way everyone will love our hearts.

Vatican II

While during all these years (4 decades), Vatican II has been held responsible by many, for the bad things that have happened in the Church in recent times, I have found nothing to say that the Council is the cause of all this.

Bishop Nickless, in his pastoral letter, defines two interpretations of the Second Vatican Council, one of "continuity" (with the continuation of the Church's tradition), and another of "rupture" and therein lies the problem. The hermeneutics of rupture has become the dominant issue, causing confusion and division over faith and belief. What is more curious, is that after four decades, this vision has become such a well-entrenched tradition, that the proper and correct application of the Council for the whole Church cannot occur until something drastic happens.

And that is exactly what was predicted in Garabandal. Mari Loli said that as a result of the great tribulation, the Church will appear to have disappeared, like many other Catholic prophecies, that the Church will disappear for a while. When it resurfaces after the great tribulation and the Warning, it will thus be ready and able for the correct universal implementation of the Second Vatican Council. After the great Miracle, the Second Vatican Council will be able to do the work it was meant to do. And if indeed a large number of people will be converted after the Miracle, they will thus enter the Church together with the reference of the Second Vatican Council. In this way, Our Lady will make it possible for more people to recognize her as their Mother. Perhaps Conchita's "How good is this ..." has something to do with all of this. So, according to Garabandal, we can conclude that the Second Vatican Council is yet to come.
